Misha's Row for Rebecca

misha for rebecca

I'm done! I decided to go with my original block, even though there were 2 other blocks in the row already with plain white centers. Rebecca liked it best I think, and I know I did. I really enjoyed using the Quilt in a Day ruler for this...the triangle in square blocks were so precise it made sewing the block together really easy :)

I also received a picture from Karen of the blocks she made/is making for me, but am not sure if she's ready for me to post them or not. I'll double check with her first. They're adorable!

So we're almost wrapped up here...Dee, Karen and Rebecca all have their rows back. I'm trying to decide if I want Karen to mail my rows to me or bring them to retreat...I can't decide, but I need to figure it out soon, LOL!

Round...Five?

karen for rebecca

Now don't get all panicky on me. I'm the one who will have 3 rounds in my house at one time, LOL!! I just received this email from Karen...it's her Round 5 row for Rebecca...which, if I'm not mistaken, was not due to be mailed until December 1st! She has it all ready to send to me.

Recap: for those (ahem, like myself) who have not mailed Round 4 yet, it ideally should be put in the mail no later than Sept 22nd. I know I'll probably be the last one to mail as I've been so busy with the TBFQ project. Sorry to keep you waiting, Rebecca! I also have Pat's Round 4 in my house as well, received a couple weeks ago.

I haven't done a status report lately so if anyone would like to comment and let me know what you have in hand and/or what you've mailed lately that would be great. Thanks!

Rebecca's rows - this is going to be a stunner!

Warning Rebecca about her red

Rebecca, when I started piecing your blocks there was a bit of extra starch on my iron that smeared on the red of the first subunit.  I took it to the sink to rinse then laid it on table to dry.  I flipped it over to iron it this afternoon and noticed that the seam allowance and white thread were now pink.  the body of the block appears fine but I wanted you to know even though you prewashed your red, it is still bleading some.

Pat's Row for Rebecca

Trying this from my iPhone. Pat has not been able to post yet so she sent me this pic.

It Just Takes 2 - Mystery Quilt

Rebecca (and anyone else interested), there is a blog that's going to do a mystery that is for a 2 color sampler quilt, inspired by the Infinite Variety: Three Hundred Years of Red and White Quilts exhibit
that was in New York this past March.

The sampler/BOM is at  http://justtakes2.com/

I guess you need to sign up for it, but it's free as long as you log in each month...at least that's what I got from the blog.
